About THE Author and the Novels

I am a retired chemist and, during my career, wrote many technical and invention reports. Although none of them were pure fiction, as far as I know, I did develop an interest in writing fictional stories.
For subject matter, I have always been fascinated by the topics of intelligence and consciousness. I began with the concept that something beyond our bodily collection of molecules must be responsible for human control over the known forces. These would include the electromagnetic spectrum, nuclear fission and fusion, and gravity. Humankind has learned to control all of them, but how?
I solved that mystery, so to speak, by inventing the fictional concept of an intelligence-bearing particle. Then, I wondered how such a particle might be exploited beyond human abilities. The result required a three-book arc to adequately explore both the concept and the possibilities. Aside from an actual intelligence-bearing particle, all other technologies covered in the stories involve known science or recognized phenomena.

My first book, The Intelligence Particle, Volume 1, was published in 2018. Although I received many favorable comments, a select group of early readers, including my wife, convinced me to dial down passages containing excessive jargon and focus on a story of more general appeal.

I vastly prefer the second-person writing style, especially when dealing with many and varied characters. I find it more flexible, especially if I want to describe what the key figures are thinking.

I dislike monotonously dark narratives and try to blend humor between dramatic passages. Reading fiction should have a few fun moments!
